Quilt Exhibit
Art Quilts Maine, a statewide contemporary quilt art guild, will exhibit a collection of small quilts created in response to the challenge, "Create a quilt based on your favorite children's book." There were two simple rules to this challenge. Quilts could not be less than 100 inches in perimeter, and the quilts had to be absolutely original, without reference to illustrations in the book. The quilts made their debut appearance at Maine Quilts in August of 2011 and have been travelling since, with stops at Devaney Doak & Garrett Booksellers in Farmington, Dyer Library in Saco and Belfast Free Library before appearing January and February of 2012 at the Portland Public Library
